Refugee Status in Israel - Strategic Ambiguity and its Human and Legal Prices

This is the second lecture in a three-part series that explores the relationship between Jewish law and values ("mishpat ivri") and the Israeli legal system. The speaker is Rivka Weill, who is a Professor of Law at the Radzyner Law School, Interdisciplinary Center (IDC), Israel. In Spring 2018, Rivka was a Visiting Professor at Yale Law School; she spent the 2016-17 academic year as the Israel Institute Visiting Professor at Cardozo. Rivka was a clerk and legal adviser for the former president of the Supreme Court of Israel, Aharon Barak.

These lectures are co-sponsored by the Hebrew Institute of Riverdale--The Bayit and the Israeli Supreme Court Project.  Each will take place at the Hebrew Institute, which is located at 3700 Henry Hudson Parkway in the Bronx.
